Counselling and psychotherapy offer a safe, empathic space in which people can explore and sometimes challenge their feelings, behaviours, beliefs and values. As you understand more about yourself, you may find solutions to what can feel like difficult or even impossible situations and issues.
This may involve talking about difficult and uncomfortable feelings, however, the positive benefits of addressing these feelings are often permanent.
Sometimes we don't treat ourselves with the same kindness and compassion that we offer to others. We may experience unhelpful and damaging patterns repeating in our lives. We may have memories that threaten to overwhelm us and sometimes, we just get lost or stuck and need the right person to help us find our way out. All of these are situations where counselling and psychotherapy can help.
